Famitsu Sales - Week #24: an XBox Series game charting, Switch over 100k, outright confusion abound
Famitsu sales charts dropped yesterday and it doesn’t make any sense.
We have an XBox Series game charting (via a bundle). And Switch is over 100k in it’s seventh year on a random week for absolutely no reason.
Tears of the Kingdom is still charting at number #1 despite Diablo IV releasing (~42k total for Diablo vs 46k+ for ToTK). ToTK continues to leg it out to well over 2 million physical. Will it catch BotW’s LTD by the end of calendar year 2023? That will be fun to watch.
Also looking forward to Final Fantasy XVI numbers when it releases but we’ll have to wait a couple weeks to see how the game does and how it affects PS5 sales barring any PR. The game will have a had a full week of sales by the time it shows up on the Famitsu Week 26 charts on 6/29.
As for hardware:
The Switch has no business selling over 100k units on a random pre-summer week. At the pace the Switch has been selling since TotK released, it’ll hit 30 million LTD a lot quicker than we anticipated. They console is putting up fantastic numbers for a console in year seven of its life.
