Nintendo’s 3rd Quarter Earnings Release
Supplemental Info
HIGHLIGHTS
Switch sells 6.9m units during Q3 holiday (16% down YoY)
Switch LTD sales have reached 139.36m
The Nintendo Switch has officially outsold the Nintendo DS and has become the best selling system EVER in Japan.
Nintendo revised both their hardware and software numbers up a second time.
Switch hardware forecast revised up from 15m to 15.5m
Switch software forecast revised up from 185m to 190m
To only have a 16% YoY drop while revising your hardware and software forecasts upward for a system about to enter its eighth year on the market is pretty crazy.

Super Mario RPG did amazingly well. I’m so glad a new generation of gamers got to experience it for the first time! Tears of the Kingdom has shipped very little in the two quarters since launch. Sell-through may be bigger than sell-in here, as Nintendo really shipped a ton of copies last May. Super Mario Bros. Wonder did amazingly well with nearly 10.70m sold through to consumers in just over two months.
