Nintendo acquires Shiver Entertainment

Nintendo announced the acquisition of Shiver Entertainment. Nintendo purchased them from Embracer Group.

My own speculation is that Shiver will become internal port studio for games coming over to Switch 2. Shiver were commisioned to port Mortal Kombat 1 and Hogwarts Legacy to Switch - two very ambitious games for Switch hardware. Nintendo must’ve liked what they saw on a technical level.

This is a very interesting acquisition! Looking forward to see what comes of it!
