SITREP!! Tears of the Kingdom - Playthrough Update!

After 215 hours, here’s my progress thus far:

  • 25 hearts

  • Maxed stamina

  • 37/48 energy cells

  • 8 Light Blessings (still need to pray at a Goddess Statue to cash them in for two Heart Containers)

  • 120 Shrines completed

  • 112 Light Roots activated

  • 328 Korok seeds found

  • Several armor pieces leveled to 3 and 4 stars

I only just made it to Lanayru province last night to help the Zora’s deal with their oil spill. Environmental disasters all over Hyrule after the Upheaval! The Rito dealt with a cold snap, The Gerudo are dealing with a sandstorm as far as I know (I visited Gerudo Town to activate the shrine but haven’t activated the tower and explored the desert much yet), and the Gorons, well, let’s just say they were dealing with a substance abuse matter with folks strung out on marbled rump roast!

Here’s are the maps so far:

Nintendo needs to up the icon count to 500 minimum for icon abusers like me!

Only the Gerudo desert region needs to be uncovered on the surface. In the sky, I explored as much as I have the surface except for the Lanayru regions (I just got there and will get the sky islands there soon) and the Gerudo desert region:

I absolutely love The Depths! I uncovered more of it faster than I did the surface. So much nice loot to be found and I really like the gloom - it keeps me on my toes. My next destination is Lanayru Mine to find Master Kohga again!

The goal is to wrap up Lanayru province (surface, sky, and depths) by this weekend. Then head to Gerudo region and complete the Regional Phenomena quest line.

I keep getting distracted by side quests and side adventures, and there are a few I definitely want to complete before I finish the game (for example, I still haven’t built my house yet and finish the Lucky Clover Gazette quest line).

I hope to have the game wrapped up in a week or two before moving on to my ever-growing backlog. But I’ve been playing the game nonstop for nearly two months and I am still having a lot of fun! However, I do feel myself getting to the point where I want to finish the game. What a wild ride it’s been.

Not too much father to go now!
